How do I receive Salvation?

We live in a world that is becoming increasingly more troublesome and dangerous. Spiritual darkness is filling the hearts and minds of men. Hopelessness and fear are gaining a stranglehold on lives and people are looking for a way out of this seemingly impossible situation. People are looking for salvation. They are looking for an escape, but often what they are finding is only deception and more hopelessness. They seek escape through drugs and alcohol or through wealth and material possessions, only to find that this only leads to depression and destruction. "There is a way which seems right to a man,
But its end is the way of death."
Proverbs 14:12 NASBWe are all Sinners

The first step to receive true salvation is to come into agreement with God, the one who created us, on our current spiritual status. We need to recognize that we are spiritually disconnected from God, separated from Him because we are sinful and unrighteous. We cannot establish a relationship with God in this situation because God is Holy and righteous. Just as light and darkness cannot exist in the same space, Holiness and righteousness cannot exist together with sin and unrighteousness. Pure white cannot be pure if it is mixed with black. It becomes gray and therefore is no longer white."...for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,"
Romans 3:23 NASBIt is pride that causes us to reject the truth about our very nature and allow deception and denial to rule our hearts and minds. Before we can receive eternal salvation, we must first humble ourselves before our creator and admit to Him that we are sinners and imperfect. We must then admit to ourselves that we are in need of salvation and that without it, we are lost. Until we come into agreement with God on these truths, we will never be able to receive what we so desperately need, a relationship with our maker.
Salvation is a Gift from God

Now realizing that we are lost, our souls are spiritually dead in our sins and we are totally separated from God our creator, what can we do about it? The answer is, we can do nothing. There are no amount of good deeds that we can perform to cover or pay for the sins we have committed. However, God, in His infinite mercy and love for us has made a way. He offers salvation to everyone who will receive it as a free gift. "For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."
Romans 6:22 NASBJust as in a court of Law, when a person is convicted and the sentence has been pronounced, the time in prison must be served. Once the sentence has been completed, the convict is free to go. We have all received our sentence for sin, and without mercy, we would have to spend eternity in separation from our Holy and righteous creator without end. But God has substituted Himself for us. Justice has been served by placing our sin and guilt on Jesus Christ and punishing Him in our place. A gift of redemption. But as with all gifts, we only possess it if we receive it. If we reject it, it is not ours to own.
 God has demonstrated
His Love for us
So even as we have been enemies of God, rejecting His commandments and doing evil to one another, He has loved us anyway and provided a way for us to start over and begin again, washed and cleaned and made Holy and righteous before Him. "But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."
Romans 5:8 NASB “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.
John 3:16 NASB
Jesus suffered and died on the cross on our behalf. God poured out His wrath on Him who was born without sin, so that He would become sin for us. Just as sin entered into the world through one man, Adam, the world has been reconciled though one man, Jesus Christ.
We must have faith in Jesus

God asks us to receive our gift of salvation by repenting, confessing our sins and putting our trust and faith in Jesus Christ and the work that He has done for us on the cross. We are to believe in Him and choose Him to be our King and Lord, submitting ourselves to His commandment to love others more than we love ourselves, just as He has done for us."...if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation. "
Romans 10:9-10 NASB When we have confessed our sins and received Him as our Lord and Savior, we are born again. We have been washed by the blood of Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit of God will then enter our hearts and dwell with us for eternity and we will be one with Him.
 Pray for forgiveness now.

Dear God, I know that I am a sinner. I know that I deserve to be punished for all that I have done against you and others. I believe Jesus Christ is your Son who died for me on the cross and rose from the grave so that I may have eternal life with you. I want to turn away from my sinful life and follow Jesus Christ alone as my Lord and Savior. I ask that you forgive me of all of my sins and that you fill me with your Holy Spirit so that I may have the power and strength to resist your enemies and all evil. Thank you for your free gift of eternal life and for sending Jesus to me so that I too might be saved. - Amenfor "WHOEVER WILL CALL ON THE NAME OF THE LORD WILL BE SAVED."
