School Assembly

When we missed our flight from Manila to Bacolod City a lot of us thought it was a distraction from the enemy meant to get us frustrated, little did we know that it was the Lord setting up a incredible ministry opportunity to minister to 1,800 school aged children. School Assemblies was something that Pastor Aaron really wanted us to do on this trip, but because of scheduling errors and the fact that this week is the last week of school in the Philippines, we were told that it would not be possible. However when we got on the flight Pastor Aarons seat was right next to one of the main officials for Schools here on Negros Island. Pastor had talked to her about our desire to do assemblies and she told him, she would love for our team to be able to do that. It took some schedule changes on our part and we had to give up some relaxation time, but the little sacrifice that we made was definitely worth what God did today. Lauren gave her testimony and we did dramas and skits along with a puppet presentation and Pastor Aaron spoke a short word. We were worried as we were in this public school that we might be talking about Jesus to much. In fact their was one point when the women in charge of all the teachers asked to talk with Pastor Aaron. He was worried she was going to tell us we couldn't talk that much about Jesus, but no. As a born again Christian she wanted to encourage us to continue to share the gospel with the people of this island, she also said what an incredible thing it was for the superintendent who was catholic, to allow us to come and speak so boldly about Jesus Christ. There is so much potential here to share the gospel and really see young people saved through school assemblies. After we were done the Principal gave us a tour of the school as she talked to us about how great it was for us to be there. During this time our team got bombarded with kids trying to get our autographs. It was something from us that they said they could remember us by. A lot will come to a saving relationship with Jesus Christ through our visit, by far a better token to remember their new American friends.

Special Graduation

We were honored to be able to share in a graduation service held for the young students of the Lift Jesus Higher School. We did a puppet presentation along with dramas and spoke a word of encouragement to the students and parents in attendance.

Awesome Youth Service

Some of the younger people on the team had the opportunity to share in a time of worship, fellowship, and reading of the word with the youth ministry here in Bacolod City. Danny spoke a great message on Reunion and Gods reunion with us. We were able to pray for them that the power of God would break any bondage or stronghold that hindered them from living the life God had intended them to live. When it came time for the altar service, every young person responded and the power of God began to move. As we were praying the youth were being slain in the Spirit. We didn't even have to touch them before they were blessed with God’s goodness. Many were set free and are beginning to walk in a life of freedom.

Contagious Faith and Pepperoni Pizza
Today we returned to the first of many mountain churches, as well as new churches we will be visiting. We meet with a very sweet congregation of people lead by a very caring man, Pastor Danny. We were able to share with them, and enjoy a meal. We brought Pizza’s from Bacolod City as our part of the meal that these church members share after every service. There were many people who had never tasted Pizza before, people in their 60’s and 70’s. One woman said to us Pizza like in the TV!!! They were so excited to eat the Pizza as soon as we opened the box, Fire Ants got to it. But the people just pulled them off and enjoyed there pizza nothing was going to get in the way of their TV Food.

While in the Mountain Churches a single mother of nine came and received prayer for her oldest daughter who just graduated high school, but had an outstanding bill to get her certificate and move on to college and the work world. This bill was 500 pesos (roughly 9.50 USD) she did not have the money to pay it and needed a miracle. We were able to give the money to the church, to help this women support a new life for oldest child.

A man with skin cancer under his eye (a lot like the type Pastor Chris has, but much, much more severe) came to receive prayer, as we asked him if he has ever had it checked out? He replied he has had it for ten years and has no way of getting it looked at. This man works hard to support his family, works sun up to sun down for pennies. He told us he does not have the time or opportunity to see a doctor. He needs a miracle.
There was also a woman named Ana had a disease that caused her head to swell, she received prayer and we believe with her that God will heal her body and cleanse her of this horrible pain.

A man we met as this same church last year while we were here, is trusting God to heal the pain in his knee, he trust that God can and will do it, because this is the same man that we meet who was raised from the dead nineteen hours after being declared dead. He is looking better and feeling better then he ever has before, He knows that ALL things are possible with God and a little old knee is no big deal for the Father.

These people can’t afford the Medical attention they need, they have such an incredible faith that God will heal them, so matter of fact. It is uplifting experience to see this sweet congregation of people and their incredible contagious Faith.
